Why work for Peace and Progress?

Trust: The North East of India is home to several cultures, each with a rich history and heritage. The quest for identity, resources and land has resulted in various conflicts between communities. Education and trust is critical to peace and progress.

Education: We believe that education is the key to self-sufficiency and liberation from the cycle of violence. Thousands of children do not have access to education in the northeast, especially those in remote communities.

Poverty: North East India accounts for some of the poorest states in the country. Poverty fuels instability, drug abuse and feeds conflict.

Health: Inaccessibility and lack of development means that remote communities are totally cut off from health care. Hundreds of people, especially children, die from preventable or treatable diseases.
